6/17/2020 · Just read that JB Weld and ethanol don’t mix. It seems that the ethanol blended gasoline will soften the JB Weld . That’s all we have up here in Saskatchewan is the blended stuff (except premium). Does anyone know what the sealer is on rectangular Briggs tanks like on.

3/26/2012 · One was JB Weld, which is probaby a polyester adhesive. What I believe to be the case is true epoxy resins are okay with ethanol laced fuel. It is the polyester resins that soften in the presence of ethanol and JB Weld turned to rubber in the test I did, but harded right back up.

Seal the petcock in the bottle with a liberal amount of epoxy putty like JB Weld . Let cure. Place your 5 gallon bottle on a platform, some bricks or level surface to allow space for a container to catch the waste water/ ethanol mix below. Pour ethanol gasoline into your 5 gallon bottle. Fill bottle to 95% full.
